Model for Future Success

WAESO ConferenceA Model for Future Success! As one of the first six “charter” alliances funded by the LSAMP program, WAESO has been not only successful but also a path-breaker for others since its initial planning grant in 1990. WAESO has been vision-driven, fully engaged in the support of the development of URM STEM students, preparing and motivating faculty at WAESO participating colleges and universities to engage in active mentoring, creating institutional inclusiveness for both student and faculty, providing faculty leadership, and ever increasing both quality and diversity.

Primary Goals

  2. The second goal of the WAESO LSAMP has been to dramatically increase the number of URM STEM U.S. citizen and U.S. permanent resident undergraduate students enrolled at its alliance member institutions.

  3. The third goal of the WAESO LSAMP Alliance headquartered at Arizona State University has been since 1991 to dramatically increase the number of Underrepresented Minority (URM) Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) U.S. citizen and U.S. permanent resident students receiving M.S. degrees at its alliance member institutions.
